Norwalk, IA (April 14, 2020) - The City of Norwalk is excited to announce a second free food giveaway courtesy of Michael Foods, Inc.
On Wednesday, April 15th from 3 - 6 p.m., or until all food is gone, there will be a semi located at the Orchard Hills Elementary School Parking Lot, 1130 W. Norwalk Avenue. A group of volunteers will hand out food to people. All volunteers will be wearing masks and gloves. As you arrive, please remain inside your vehicle and the food will be delivered to you. Each box will include: ● Liquid Egg (Whole Egg) ● Hard Cooked Eggs ● Shredded Potatoes ● Mashed Potatoes ● Diced Potatoes During the first food giveaway on Wednesday, April 8th, Michael Foods helped feed 483 families. This Wednesday they are aiming to feed 700 families with a total of 30,000 pounds of food. Residents of Norwalk and the greater Des Moines Metropolitan area will be able to participate in the free food giveaway.
